KINGSVILLE, Texas (Dec. 14) – Central Oklahoma's Jermelle Cudjo has been selected to play in the Valero Cactus Bowl, an NCAA Division II all-star football game that will be held here Jan. 8, 2010.

Played in an East vs. West format, teams in the Cactus Bowl are comprised entirely of the best NCAA Division II college seniors from around the country.  Players report on Jan. 2, with the game set for a 6:35 p.m. kickoff on Jan. 8 at Javelina Stadium on the Texas A&M-Kingsville campus.

Cudjo, a 6-3, 300-pound defensive tackle from Lawton, was a four-year starter for the Bronchos who earned first-team All-Lone Star Conference North Division honors twice and second-team accolades once.

He finished the 2009 season with 58 tackles, including a team-high 12.5 tackles for loss with 3.5 sacks. He finished his career with 198 tackles, 38.5 of those for loss.

Cudjo is the third straight UCO player to participate in the Cactus Bowl, which started as the Snow Bowl in Fargo, N.D. in 1994 before moving to Kingsville and changing names in 2001.   Linebacker Will Clewis played in 2007, while lineman Dustin Finn and linebacker K.C. Asiodu last year.
