Bronchos Up To No. 21

Central Oklahoma Inches Up National Rankings After 2-0 Week

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Central Oklahoma moved back up in the national rankings after going 2-0 last week and is now No. 21 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25.

Central Oklahoma, which was ranked No. 22 last week, beat No. 19 Washburn in four sets on Thursday night. Washburn dropped to No. 20 this week, remaining one spot ahead of the Bronchos despite the recent result. UCO also beat unranked Emporia State in five sets last week.
 
The Bronchos are now 16-3 on the year and have a 7-2 record in the MIAA. UCO is third in the MIAA standings with its two losses to the teams in front of the Bronchos. Central lost to Nebraska Kearney on the road in four sets. UNK is ranked ninth nationally for the second week in a row. The Bronchos also lost to Central Missouri at home in five sets. UCM is receiving votes, but is not ranked in the AVCA Top 25.
 
Central Oklahoma has two road matches this week in league play. The Bronchos visit Northwest Missouri on Friday, Oct. 13. The Bearcats of Maryville, Missouri are also receiving votes but not ranked. Central Oklahoma will also visit Missouri Western on Saturday, Oct. 14.
