KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Jan. 6) – Central Oklahoma's Josh Gibbs claimed Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Player of the Week honors for the third time this season, the league office announced Monday.

The 6-foot-5 senior standout earned the award after leading the Bronchos to a big 81-77 road win over Northwest Missouri last Saturday, scoring a career-high 30 points while adding game highs for rebounds (14) and assists).

Gibbs made five 3-pointers in the contest while also hitting 9-of-10 free throws.  He scored five straight points in a 34-second span of the second half to break a 59-59 tie and give UCO the lead for good as the Bronchos improved to 9-3 on the season and 3-2 in the league.

It was the NCAA Division II-leading 12th double-double of the season for Gibbs, who leads the country in rebounding (13.5) while adding 22.1 points a contest.

Gibbs and the Bronchos open a four-game MIAA homestand Wednesday, hosting Missouri Southern at 7:30 p.m.
