EDMOND (Jan. 11) -- Josh Gibbs finished with 22 points and led four players in double figures for Central Oklahoma and the Bronchos defeated Southwest Baptist, 89-72, Saturday afternoon at Hamilton Field House.
UCO improved to 10-4 on the season and 4-3 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, while the Bearcats fell to 8-7 and 1-5.
The Bronchos capped an 8-0 run with a 3-pointer by Cal Andrews to build a 10-point lead in the first half. Andrews finished the game with 18 points and four 3-pointers. The Bearcats never got closer than five points the rest of the way.
Aaron Anderson finished with 15 points and Nic Combs chipped in 13. Gibbs added seven rebounds and six assists to go with his 22-point output and Seth Heckart contributed nine points and seven assists.
The Bronchos resume play on January 16 at home against Fort Hays State with tip set for 7:30 p.m.
