Bronchos Host Emporia State Saturday

Central Oklahoma wraps up a two-game homestand and continues Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play Saturday when the Bronchos entertain Emporia State.

Kickoff at 10,000-seat Wantland Stadium is 6 p.m.

UCO is 0-2 on the season and in the league. The Hornets, among the teams receiving votes in the NFCA Division II top-25 poll, are 2-0 overall and in MIAA play.

The Bronchos were picked 10th by the coaches and 11th by the media in the pre-season MIAA poll, while ESU was tabbed for a seventh-place finish by both.

ABOUT THE SERIES: The Bronchos have a 9-4-1 lead in a rivalry that started in 1928 with a 23-6 ESU victory. The Hornets won last year's meeting in Emporia, Kan. 42-14.

ESU has a 1-0 lead in games at Wantland Stadium, that a 17-7 victory in 2007.

UCO AT HOME: The Bronchos have a 156-86-5 record in their 49th season at Wantland Stadium.
