Amanda McClelland threw a complete-game five-hitter to lead No. 7-ranked Central Oklahoma to a 6-1 second-game victory that earned the Bronchos a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association doubleheader split with Lindenwood here Friday.

The Lions snapped UCO's 13-game winning streak with a 4-3 first-game win before the Bronchos bounced back to take the nightcap and stay atop the league standings.

UCO, now 34-8 overall and 18-2 in the MIAA, moves on to Kirksville, Mo. Saturday for a
12 p.m. conference twinbill against Truman State.

McClelland scattered five hits while giving up two walks and striking out three in going the distance in the nightcap to pick up the crucial win, improving to 9-1 on the season.

The Bronchos broke on top in the top of the first when lead-off batter Kaylee Brunson was hit by pitch, stole second and eventually scored on a wild pitch.

The Bronchos trailed 4-0 after five innings of the opener before getting back in the contest in the top of the sixth on a two-run single by Hayley Hudson and an error, but the Bronchos left the bases loaded as LU held on.
