UCO Opens League Play On The Road

Central Oklahoma opens Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play Thursday in St. Charles, Mo. when the Bronchos start a two-game road-swing at Lindenwood.
 
Game-time is 5:30 p.m. at Robert F. Hyland Arena.
 
UCO is 5-2 on the season, while the Lady Lions are 4-2 and riding a three-game winning streak.
 
The Bronchos of eighth-year head coach Guy Hardaker haven't played since a 98-75 rout of Southwestern Oklahoma on Nov. 27.
 
UCO has been led in the early going by senior Jill Bryan, who tops the team in scoring (15.6), rebounding (6.1), assists (3.3) and steals (2.3).  Sophomore Julia Mason adds 11.3 point and 5.6 rebounds a game, while sophomore Haley Weathers has made a team-best 18 3-pointers and averages 10.9 points a contest.
 
LU, which is 3-0 at home this season, is averaging 80.0 points a game and is paced by Marissa Lehnig's 14.8 average.  Five other players add at least 9.2 points a game.
 
The Bronchos lead a short series 2-1, though the Lady Lions won 81-77 last year.
 
UCO moves on to Jefferson City, Mo. Saturday to take on Lincoln at 1:30 p.m.
