Bronchos Have First Practice

Head coach Nick Bobeck
EDMOND (Aug. 9) – Central Oklahoma began preparations for the 2012 football season Thursday morning with a brisk two-hour practice on the Wantland Stadium game field.

The Bronchos went through a 30-minute warm-up and stretching period before starting practice at 8:30 a.m. and went exactly two hours in shorts and helmets.

“It was a good first practice and I was pretty pleased with what we got accomplished this morning,” first-year head coach Nick Bobeck said.   “The kids had a good bounce to their step and they were really excited about getting started.

“We had some sloppy moments and it wasn't as crisp and fast as I would have liked, but we expected that with as many new kids as we've got.  The kids worked hard and it was a good start.”

UCO will come back Friday morning for another 8:30 a.m. session in shorts and helmets.

The Bronchos open the 2012 campaign Aug. 30 at home against Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association rival Missouri Southern.
