Two UCO Games To Be Televised

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (June 28) – Two Central Oklahoma football games – one home and one away – will be among the 11 featured on the MIAA Television Network this season, the conference office announced Thursday.

The Bronchos are slated to have their Sept. 8 road game against defending Division II national champion Pittsburg State and their Sept. 22 home contest against Washburn on the TV schedule.  Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at PSU and 2:30 p.m. at Wantland Stadium.

UCO is in its first year as a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.  The Bronchos open the 2012 schedule at home against Missouri Southern on Thursday, Aug. 30.

The first nine games of the 2012 schedule have been established, but for the second consecutive year the final two weeks have been left open as "flex" games. The games that are of the most interest to MIAA fans, whether it be a game with championship implications, rivalry game, etc., will be chosen to fill the final two slots.

The games will once again be carried live on KSMO Channel 62 in the Kansas City area.  In addition, the network has been available in prior years on Cox Kansas; Eagle Communications (western Kansas); Mediacom (central Missouri); along with Suddenlink and Cablevision (northwest Missouri).

The conference office is currently working on adding distribution affiliates in the St. Louis and Kearney, Neb. markets along with the state of Oklahoma.  Additional information will be announced on where to watch the games will be made available as the season draws closer.

The MIAA is in its third year partnered with Kansas City-based Niles Media Group to provide production, distribution and media sales for the broadcast network. The MIAA Network, launched in the summer of 2010, showcased 10 football games as well as 10 basketball games in each of its first two years on television.

Saturday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 10 will be the final two football broadcasts of the season, and both are tentatively scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT. Information regarding which games will be featured will be announced at a later date.

In addition to the 11 football games on the MIAA Network, the league will also be featured on national television Thursday, Sept. 20, as Central Missouri plays host to Truman at 7 p.m. CT on CBS Sports Network.

All MIAA football and basketball games will continue to be streamed live online on the America One Television Network.
