Bronchos Ready For Regional

No. 2-ranked Central Oklahoma makes its sixth appearance in the NCAA Division II Softball Championship this week when the Bronchos host the South Central Regional II Tournament.

It's the first time for UCO to host a regional, with three teams joining the Bronchos in the double elimination tournament at Edmond North High School.

UCO (39-5) is the overall No. 2 seed in the eight-team South Central Region and will be joined by third-seeded and No. 17-rated Emporia State (39-9), No. 6 seed Abilene Christian (29-11) and No. 7 seed Incarnate Word (29-23).

First-round action gets underway Friday, with ESU taking on ACU at 4:30 p.m., followed by UCO and UIW at 7 p.m. First-round winners and losers meet Saturday, followed by another elimination game. The finals are set for 2 p.m. Sunday, with the "if necessary" get to follow.
