Lawson, Kliewer Earn All-America Honors

EDMOND (May 22) – Jessica Lawson and Rachel Kliewer became Central Oklahoma's first-ever rowing All-Americans Tuesday, it was announced by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association.

Lawson was a first-team selection and Kliewer a second-team pick on the Pocock Division II All-America Team. Nine rowers were named to the first-team unit and five to the second-team squad.

Members of the All-America teams are selected by the Regional Chairpersons based on the nominee's team record, strength of schedule, nomination rank, coach's comments and 2,000-meter ergometer score.

Lawson, a senior from Edmond North, is in her fourth year with the program and has been team captain the past three years. A senior from Ringwood, Kliewer is in her third year with the Bronchos.

Lawson and Kliewer have been the ringleaders all season for the UCO 8+ team that earned the school's first-ever national tournament berth, with the Bronchos set to travel to West Windsor, N.J. later this week for that event.
