EDMOND (April 21) –
Jared Wright's fifth-inning grand slam snapped a 1-1 tie and sparked Central Oklahoma to a 12-3 rout of Oklahoma Christian Saturday afternoon at sun-splashed Wendell Simmons Field.

The Bronchos bounced back from Friday night's 5-4 loss to the Eagles with the victory and improved to 30-14 in reaching the 30-win plateau for the first time since 2008.

It was also the 12th straight home win for UCO, which has now won 15 of its last 17 games.  The Bronchos return to action Monday, hosting Mid-America Christian in a 3 p.m. contest.

Wright, Tucker Brown, Kevin Blue, Keegan Morrow, Cory Proctor, Eric Garza and Cameron Mavroulis all had two-hit games to lead a 15-hit attack as UCO pulled away over the final five innings.

The Bronchos managed just one run in the first four frames, with Mike Boyle's RBI single in the first giving UCO an early 1-0 lead before OC tied it in the third.

But the Bronchos took control in the fifth.

Mavroulis reached on an error to start the inning, Brown followed with a single and the Eagles issued an intentional walk to Austin Rycroft to load the bases for Wright.

The junior designated hitter fouled OC's strategy with his fifth home run of the season to clear the bases and put UCO on top 5-1, with Eric Garza later adding a two-run single to make it 7-1.

The Eagles got two runs back in the top of the sixth, but Blue's RBI single made it 8-3 in the bottom of that inning and the Bronchos put the game away for good with a four-run outburst in the seventh.

Blue had the big hit with a two-run double, while Morrow and Garza added RBI singles to up the lead to 12-3 before coasting in.
