Bronchos Fall To No. 8 West Florida

GULF SHORES, Ala. (March 23) – No. 8-ranked West Florida was too much for Central Oklahoma here Friday in handing the No. 42-rated Bronchos an 8-1 setback.

UCO had a six-match winning streak ended with the loss in falling to 8-5 on the season.

The Argos took control by winning all three doubles matches and then captured five of the six singles bouts to complete the victory.

UCO's lone win came at No. 1 singles, where Elizabeta Abramovic pulled out a tough 6-2, 3-6, 10-8 win over Sheila Smiley. Anna Kochigina dropped a three-set decision at No. 4.

The Bronchos were scheduled to end the spring break road trip against Stillman Saturday, but that match was cancelled. UCO will return to action next Thursday when it hosts Midwestern State at 3 p.m. on Senior Day.
