EDMOND (Feb. 28) –
Mike Boyle and Tucker Brown combined for seven runs batted in at the top of the order to spark Central Oklahoma to a 13-10 win over Mid-America Christian Tuesday afternoon at wind-swept Wendell Simmons Field.

Boyle had two hits and four RBI in the lead-off role, while Brown jacked out a two-run home run in his first at bat from the No. 2 spot and went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

The Bronchos snapped a three-game losing streak with the victory, building an early 5-0 lead and leading 13-4 after six innings before the Evangels scored six runs in their final at bat.  UCO, now 9-5 on the season, goes to Angelo State for a three-game series this weekend.

Boyle and Brown put the Bronchos on top early, with Boyle reaching on an error to open the game and then quickly coming home when Brown followed with a shot over the center field wall.

Those two got in the act again in the second when UCO padded its lead to 5-0, with Boyle ripping an run-scoring single and Brown an RBI double.

MACU cut the deficit to 5-3 in the top of the third, but the Bronchos answered back with three of their own in the bottom of that frame as Austin Rycroft belted a two-run homer and Eric Garza an RBI double.

UCO added an unearned run in the fourth, upped its lead to 12-4 in the fifth on Boyle's three-run double to left-center field and made it 13-4 in the sixth when Kevin Blue singled, went to third on consecutive walks and scored on a wild pitch.

The Evangels tried to make things interesting in their final at bat and pushed across six runs on seven hits to get within 13-10 before the Bronchos finally closed out the game.

Rycroft, Proctor and Blue joined Boyle and Brown as two-hit performers, with UCO collecting eight extra base hits on the day.
