Creel In Contention At OGA Stroke Play

Muskogee, Okla. (Aug. 8) -- Central Oklahoma's Josh Creel was among the leaders after the first day of the Oklahoma Golf Association Stroke Play Championship here Monday, shooting a two-under-par 69.

The junior-to-be was tied for fourth place after opening-day play at the 6,665-yard, par-71 Muskogee Country Club, shooting a four-under 31 on the back nine after making the turn at two-over 36. Creel is two shots out of the lead heading into Tuesday's second round, with the 54-hole tournament wrapping up Wednesday.

Three other UCO golfers are also competing in the tournament. Trevor Stafford eagled the par-5 15th hole en route to a one-over 72, while Chris Muriana shot 73 and Logan Waresback 79.
