Chaney Uhles
GRANBURY, Texas (April 11) -- Chaney Uhles was the lone Central Oklahoma player to break 80 as the Bronchos struggled to an opening-round 329 at the Doc Housewright Tarleton Invitational here Monday.

UCO is seventh in the 21-team field heading into Tuesday's final round at the Harbor Lakes Golf Club.  Host Tarleton State shot a 306 and leads St. Edward's by five shots, followed by Grand Canyon (312), California-Pa. (316) and Northeastern State (319).

"We didn't get off to a good start, which you have to do on this course before getting to the back nine," UCO coach Michael Bond said.  "We didn't play like we're capable of, but hopefully we'll come back tomorrow and post a good score."

Uhles led the Bronchos with a 79 that has her tied for 14th in the individual standings.  Emily Leahey had an 81, with Mychael McWhorter adding an 84, Erica Bensch an 85 and Taylor Neidy an 89.
