Williams Named All-Region

Dauntae Williams
CANYON, Texas (March 9) -- Central Oklahoma's Dauntae Williams is a repeat first-team selection on the Daktronics NCAA Division II All-South Central Regional Team after voting was conducted by sports information directors in the region.

Joining Williams on the first-team unit was Midwestern State's Chris Hagen, Tarleton State's Corin Henry, Washburn's Logan Stutz and Missouri Southern's Skyler Bowlin

The five players named to the first team will be put on the Daktronics All-American ballot.

Williams was named Lone Star Conference North Division Player of the Year for the second consecutive season last week and then earned MVP honors in the LSC Tournament in leading the No. 4-ranked Bronchos to that title.

UCO, 28-3 on the year, will host the South Central Regional this week with four first-round games on tap Saturday at Hamilton Field House. The Bronchos will take on Texas A&M International at 6 p.m.

A senior from Missouri City, Texas, Williams is averaging 21.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.4 steals a game, ranking 16th nationally in steals and 21st in scoring. He has scored 630 points, which ranks ninth on UCO's single-season list.

The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing, and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition.
