Bronchos Finish Fifth

AUSTIN, Texas (March 8) – Short-handed Central Oklahoma fell back a spot and finished fifth in the St. Edward's Invitational that ended here Tuesday.

The No. 7-ranked Bronchos were forced to play with just four players after sophomore standout Josh Creel suffered an elbow injury early in Monday's first round and came in with a final-round 311 in finishing three trips around the par-71 Grey Rock Golf Club with a 920 total.

Abilene Christian won the 14-team tournament at 877, two shots ahead of Barry. St. Mary's was third at 895, followed by Cameron (909), UCO and host St. Edward's (921).

Colby Shrum and Baer Aneshansley had the low scores of the day for the Bronchos with 76s, while Andrew Green shot 78 and Dillon Rust 81.

Green ended up 13th in the individual standings with a 224 total, while Shrum tied for 16th at 226.

UCO is off until going to the 61st SoCal Invitational in Mission Viejo, Calif. March 21-22.
