Bronchos Trail ACU In DBU Tourney

DALLAS (March 28) -- Andrew Green had consecutive under-par rounds to pace Central Oklahoma on the first day of the Dallas Baptist Invitational here Monday, with the Bronchos second in the team standings after the opening 36 holes.

UCO had rounds of 279-286 for a five-over-par 565 total at The Golf Club of Dallas, leaving the Bronchos six shots behind Abilene Christian heading into Tuesday's final round. Oklahoma City is third in the 20-team tournament at 566, followed by Oklahoma Christian (574) and Cameron (578).

Green is third in the individual race at five-under 135, two shots back of ACU's Alex Carpenter. Green fired a one-under 69 in the morning round before coming back with a sizzling four-under 66 in the afternoon.

Colby Shrum is tied for ninth in the medalist standings with a one-over 141 total after rounds of 68-73, while UCO also got a 69-74 from Josh Creel, back-to-back 73s from Baer Aneshansley and a 76-74 from Dillon Rust.

Chris Muriana (72-74) and Derek Franco (76-74) are competing as individuals in the tournament.
