ADA, Okla. (March 12) –
Rachel Lowery and Kayce Raines combined for seven hits and five runs batted in to lead Central Oklahoma to a 5-1 second-game win over East Central here Saturday to give the Bronchos a Lone Star Conference North Division doubleheader split.

The Tigers won the opener 2-0 before UCO bounced back in the nightcap to salvage the one win in the two-day, three-game series. The Bronchos are now 11-8 on the year and 1-2 in league play, while ECU is 15-3 and 2-1.

UCO managed just four hits in the first game and the Tigers scored one run in each of the first two innings to take that victory.

The Bronchos finally got their bats going in the series finale, led by Raines (4-for-4, three RBI) and Lowery (3-for-3, two RBI).

Raines had a run-scoring single in the first to stake UCO to a quick 1-0 lead, though the Tigers tied it in their half of the inning.

The Bronchos went ahead to stay in the third when Raines delivered another RBI single and Lowery pushed the lead to 4-1 in the sixth with a two-run home run. Raines gave UCO an insurance run and capped her perfect day with a lead-off solo homer in the seventh.

Rachael Steverson went the distance in the pitching circle, giving up just four hits while striking out four.

The Bronchos return to action Tuesday, hosting Missouri Western for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
