NEW ORLEANS (Aug. 25) -- Former Central Oklahoma linebacker K.C. Asiodu was picked up by the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints Wednesday after being released by the St. Louis Rams earlier this summer.
The 6-2, 242-pound Asiodu joined the Rams last year as an undrafted free agent. He bounced around from the practice squad to the active roster, with a stint on the Miami Dolphins' practice squad in between.
Asiodu finished the 2009 season with eight tackles. He was released by the Rams in late June.
Saints Coach Sean Payton said Asiodu will work as a strong-side linebacker on defense, but his primary contribution will be on special teams.
Asiodu was a first-team All-Lone Star Conference North Division pick and the co-Linebacker of the Year as a senior for the Bronchos in 2008 when he helped lead UCO to the division crown and a 7-4 record.
