Volleyball Has Tough Schedule

EDMOND (June 3) – Central Oklahoma will meet four returning national tournament teams during the 2010 volleyball season that will see the Bronchos play only seven home matches.

UCO, which has five starters back from last year's 16-16 team, will hold its annual Bronze-Blue intrasquad scrimmage on Aug. 21 and then opens the season with nine consecutive road matches. Click here for the complete schedule.

The Bronchos make their home debut on Sept. 14 against Dallas Baptist, one of four teams on the schedule who qualified for last year's NCAA Division II playoffs. UCO also hosts returning national runner-up West Texas A&M on Sept. 25 in addition to taking on Nebraska-Omaha and Colorado School of Mines in the Angelo State Invitational Sept. 10-11.

Six of UCO's seven home matches will be against Lone Star Conference opponents – Eastern New Mexico (Sept. 23), WTAMU, Texas A&M-Commerce (Oct. 14), Texas Woman's (Oct. 15), Southeastern Oklahoma (Nov. 4) and East Central (Nov. 6).

The Bronchos of seventh-year head coach Jeff Boyland are led by returning first-team All-LSC performers Zuela Adom and Kristen Wilson.
