UCO-SOSU Box Score

DURANT, Okla. (May 7) –
Rachael Steverson continued her pitching dominance of Southeastern Oklahoma to lead Central Oklahoma to a 4-1 victory in an elimination game at the Lone Star Conference Softball Championship here Friday afternoon.

Steverson, who threw 15 scoreless innings in picking up two wins over the Savage Storm last week, allowed just three hits and one run in winning her second game of the tournament.

The Bronchos improved to 31-18 and moved into another elimination game at 2:30 p.m. against Midwestern State.

The win over SOSU wasn’t without drama, as the Savage Storm loaded the bases and scored their lone run in the bottom of the seventh.  Steverson issued a one-out walk before being lifted for Molly Shivers, who gave up three straight seeing-eye hits before getting a strikeout and pop-out to end the game.

UCO broke up a scoreless game with three runs in the third, getting a two-run single from Kacie Edwards and an RBI hit from Kelsey Tiger.

The Bronchos upped their advantage to 4-0 in the fifth when Brittany Weaver got a two-out single and scored on Brittany Geter’s double off the wall in center field.

Tiger had two of UCO’s eight hits.
