AMARILLO, Texas (May 4) -- Central Oklahoma's Cassy Knight overcame a rough start to end her career with a solid 77 in the final round of the NCAA Division II Super Regional Four Tournament here Tuesday.

The senior from Tahlequah bogeyed the first four holes at Tascosa Country Club, but rallied to play the final 14 holes just one-over to come in with the 77 that jumped her 10 spots in the final individual standings.

Knight, who struggled to rounds of 84-88 the first two days, finished 33rd in the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a 249 total.

"Cassy got off to a terrible start and it looked like it was going to be another long day, but she stayed focused and played really well the last 14 holes," UCO coach Michael Bond said.  "She wanted to end on a positive note and I'm so proud of the way she battled today."

Knight started on No. 10 for the third straight day and promptly bogeyed the first four holes before settling down with a par on No. 14 and a birdie on the par-3 15th hole.  The two-time Lone Star Conference champion fell back to five-over with back-to-back bogeys on Nos. 16 and 17 before parring No. 18 -- her ninth hole -- for a 41.

Knight then reeled off nine straight pars on the front nine to come in with a closing 36 for the 77 that was the fourth-lowest round of the day.

Tarleton State cruised to a 30-shot victory in the team race.
