PHOENIX, Ariz. (April 6) – Central Oklahoma faltered on the second day of the Grand Canyon Women's Golf Invitational here Tuesday, finishing 11th in the 17-team tournament.

The Bronchos were tied for sixth after Monday's opening round, but dropped to 11th with a 651 total after shooting a closing 327 at the par-72 Palm Valley Golf Course.  Tarleton State finished at 592 to win the team title by 31 shots over runner-up and tournament host Grand Canyon.

Erica Bensch led UCO Tuesday with an 80 and she finished 15th in the individual race with a two-day 157 total.  Cassy Knight and Raelynn Farthing both shot 81, while Maria Jimenez had an 85 and Mychael McWhorter an 86.

“We just didn't play like we're capable of,” UCO coach Michael Bond said.   “Nobody could get anything going today and that was disappointing.”

The Bronchos resume the season next Monday and Tuesday at the Tarleton State/Coca-Cola Classic in Stephenville, Texas.
