4/14/2010 4:51:09 PM
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (April 13) – Central Oklahoma managed only one singles win and one doubles victory in falling to Lone Star Conference rival Northeastern State 7-2 here Tuesday.
The Bronchos dropped to 14-5 on the year and 4-3 in the league with the loss. UCO ends the regular season schedule Saturday, hosting Newman for an 11 a.m. match.
Virginie Rodriguez was the lone singles winner for the Bronchos, pulling out a 6-2, 5-7, 10-7 triumph at No. 5. Julia Shviadok and Eli Abramovic teamed up for an 8-3 victory at No. 2 doubles.
“I felt like we were lacking some experience and mental toughness,” UCO coach Natalya Smith said. “We weren’t executing as well as we actually can. Every team has at least one match that it just simply isn’t performing at its best and today’s match was that for us.
“We will learn something from this match and benefit from it in the future.”
