CANYON, Texas (March 6) -- No. 12-ranked Central Oklahoma dropped a pair of games to No. 23 West Texas A&M here Saturday on the final day of the Holiday Inn/Lady Buff Invitational.

The Bronchos lost a 12-6 decision the final game of round-robin play and the teams turned around and met in the championship game later in the afternoon, with WTAMU claiming a 9-1 run-rule victory.

UCO fell to 9-5 with the two losses, while the Lady Buffs improved to 17-6.

The Bronchos trailed 6-0 after three innings of the first game before getting three runs in the fourth as Megan Bentley had a two-run single and Ashley Noles an RBI fielder's choice.

WTAMU upped its lead to 9-3, with UCO cutting that to 9-6 in the fifth on a three-run home run by Kelsie Deckard, but the Bronchos wouldn't score again and the Lady Buffs added an insurance run in the sixth.

Bentley and Deckard had two hits apiece to lead an eight-hit attack.  UCO had four errors in the game that led to six unearned runs for WTAMU.

The Bronchos managed just four hits in the championship game and got their only run in the fourth on Bentley's RBI single that made it 4-1.  The Lady Buffs, who pounded out 18 hits, ended the game on the eight-run rule with five runs in the sixth.
