DURANT, Okla. (March 28) -- A final-inning rally lifted Central Oklahoma to yet another one-run win here Sunday as the Bronchos edged Texas Woman's 7-6 to end a stellar performance in the Lone Star Conference Crossover Tournament.

UCO broke a 6-all tie with the Pioneers in the bottom of the seventh, loading the bases with no outs before a throwing error ended the game.  The Bronchos started the day with a 10-2 thrashing of No. 17-ranked West Texas A&M, getting back-to-back home runs by Kelsey Tiger and Brittany Geter to take control early.

UCO finished 5-1 in the three-day event that pitted North Division teams against their South Division rivals, winning three of those games by one run.

"We made a lot of clutch plays and had a good weekend," UCO coach Genny Stidham said.  #Our defense was solid all three days and we came up with a bunch of big hits.  It's a good momentum boost for us and now we just have to keep it going."

The Bronchos overcame an early 3-0 deficit against TWU, getting a three-run homer from Kacie Edwards and a two-run blast from Geter in the third inning and then added an unearned run in the fourth for a 6-3 lead.

The Pioneers tied it with a three-run homer of their own in the fifth and it stayed that way until the bottom of the seventh.  Edwards started the game-winning rally with an infield single and pinch-runner Kourtney Jenkins went to third when Tiger followed with a double.

TWU then intentionally walked Geter to load the bases, but the Pioneers made a throwing error to home plate on Rachel Lowery's ground ball and Jenkins scored the winning run.

Molly Shivers picked up the pitching win in relief, while Tiger went 3-for-4 to lead a nine-hit attack.  Edwards and Brittany Weavery added two hits apiece.

UCO jumped out to a 4-0 first-inning lead against WTAMU as Tiger blasted a three-run homer and Geter followed with a solo shot and the Bronchos ended the contest on the eight-run rule after five.

Shivers shut down the power-hitting Lady Buffs, giving up just three hits and one earned run in going the distance.  The Bronchos battered three WTAMU pitchers for 12 hits, getting two apiece from Tiger, Edwards, Megan Bentley and Niki Hunt.

UCO wasted little time taking command in its initial at bat as Shivers walked and Edwards singled before Tiger ripped a long home run to left field for a 3-0 lead.  Geter promptly made it 4-0 when she planted the next pitch over the left field fence.

WTAMU got one run back in the second, but the Bronchos came back with three in the third, getting a two-run single from Kayce Raines and an RBI single from Shivers to make it 7-1.

The Lady Buffs got their final run in the fourth and UCO answered with three in the bottom of that frame to up its advantage to 10-2.  Bentley had and RBI single in that inning, with the Bronchos also scoring on a wild pitch and an illegal pitch.
