DENVER, Colo. (March 18) -- Central Oklahoma stretched its winning streak to nine straight here Thursday when the No. 26-ranked Bronchos overwhelmed Colorado Christian and Metropolitan State by identical 9-0 scores.
UCO, now 9-1 on the year, didn't come close to losing a match in the back-to-back shutouts.
The Bronchos swept all three doubles matches to take early control against Colorado Chrisitan and followed with an even more dominating performance in singles, dropping just seven games in winning all six matches.
Eli Abramovic led the singles onslaught with a 6-0, 6-0 rout, while Lacy Caldwell and Meredith Marney dropped just one game apiece in 6-0, 6-1 romps.
It was more of same in the afternoon rout of Metro State, with UCO again breaking out to a 3-0 lead after the doubles before sweeping the six singles bouts without dropping a set.
Caldwell and Abramovic dropped just two games in winning their singles matches, while Rose Cabato had a 6-2, 6-1 triumph.
The Bronchos, who haven't lost since dropping their season-opener to Oklahoma State on Feb. 6, stay in Denver to meet Colorado State-Pubelo and Mesa State on Saturday.
