EDMOND (March 13) –
A pair of late rallies fell short for Central Oklahoma here Saturday afternoon as the Bronchos dropped a pair of Lone Star Conference games to Cameron.

UCO scored its lone two runs in the seventh inning of a 6-2 first-game loss and then pushed across three runs in the bottom of the ninth in falling 10-8 in the nightcap.  The Bronchos, now 7-9 overall and 5-9 in the league, meet CU for another doubleheader at 1 p.m. Sunday in Lawton.

The Aggies broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning of the opener with one run, then added another run in the fifth and four in the sixth to make it 6-0.

UCO tried to get back in it in its final at bat behind Corey Hawk’s run-scoring single and a John Bryant RBI ground-out, but it wasn’t enough.  The Bronchos finished with just three hits.

CU led 3-0 after three innings of the second game, but the Bronchos tied it in the fourth on a two-run home run by Casey Bruns and a solo shot by Luke Yost.

The Aggies went back on top 7-3 heading into the bottom of the sixth, with UCO getting one run back there on Arrow Cunningham’s RBI ground-out and another in the seventh on Brady White’s run-scoring single to make it 7-5.

CU added three more runs to take a 10-5 lead into the ninth, with the Bronchos getting close in their final at bat as Cunningham had a two-run double and eventually scored on a wild pitch.  But UCO couldn’t complete the comeback as the Aggies held on.

Yost led the offense with three hits, while Bruns and Cunningham added two apiece.
