RICHARDSON, Texas (Feb. 8) – Central Oklahoma swept Lone Star Conference North Division player of the week accolades Monday, with Jordan Stark taking the offensive award and Cristina Yarbrough the defensive honor.

Stark and Yarbrough led the way last week as the Bronchos swept three key North Division games to move into a tie for the league lead.  UCO handed Northeastern State its first LSC North loss with a 77-74 victory, pulled out a 96-93 double-overtime thriller at Texas Woman’s and then claimed a 74-69 win four days later in a home rematch with the Pioneers.

Stark averaged 17.0 points and 7.3 rebounds a game for the week while shooting 51.7 percent (15-of-29) from the field, 50.0 percent (8-of-16) from 3-point range and 81.3 percent (13-of-16) from the free throw line.

The junior guard from Weatherford made five 3-pointers in scoring 19 points against NSU, had 21 points and a career-high 14 rebounds while making five clutch free throws in the second OT of the first-game win over TWU and finished with 11 points in the second TWU victory.

Yarbrough averaged 4.3 rebounds (3.7 defensive) and 2.3 steals while adding 9.7 points and 6.3 assists a game in UCO’s three close wins.

The senior guard from Edmond Santa Fe had six rebounds (five defensive), five steals, 15 points and six assists in the NSU win, dished out eight assists, had two defensive rebounds and made one steal despite playing just 20 minutes because of foul trouble in the first TWU win and ended the week with five rebounds (four defensive), five assists, one steal and 14 points against the Pioneers.

The Bronchos are now 16-5 on the year and 7-1 in LSC North play, having won six straight games.  UCO returns to league action Wednesday at Southwestern Oklahoma and then hosts Cameron Saturday evening.
