OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 6) -- Central Oklahoma opened the 2010 tennis season with a 7-0 setback to Oklahoma State Saturday night at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.

The Cowgirls swept the doubles matches to gain the first point and then took all six singles bouts.  The Bronchos had four freshmen and two sophomores in the singles lineup.

"I think it was good for us to start the season against such great competition," UCO coach Natalya Smith said.  "It showed us that we can be a very solid team this season and we have to keep working hard.

"I was proud of my girls because they played their hardest and we just need to get better with every match we play."

UCO doesn't play again until hosting Cowley County Community College on Feb. 20.
