ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (Feb. 27) -- Central Oklahoma rolled to a pair of lopsided wins over two Mid-America Athletics Association rivals here Saturday, routing Northwest Missouri 7-2 in the morning before blanking Missouri Western 6-0 in the afternoon.
The Bronchos lost only one singles match and one doubles bout on the day in improving to 4-1 in stretching their winning streak to four straight.
UCO, ranked sixth in region, got singles wins from Julia Shviadok, Anto Rossini, Eli Abramovic, Virginie Rodriguez and Rose Cabato against NWMSU, which is rated eighth in the region. #Lacy Caldwell# and Rodriguez teamed up for a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles, with Shviadok and Abramovic claiming an 8-3 victory at No. 2.
The Bronchos dropped only four sets in getting singles wins from Shviadok, Abromovic and Lindsey Sweetgall against MWSU in taking a 6-0 lead, with the final three singles bouts not contested.
UCO goes to Dallas next weekend to meet St. Edward's and Arkansas-Fort Smith.
