EDMOND (Feb. 17) –
Another balanced attack resulted in yet another rout for streaking Central Oklahoma Wednesday night at Hamilton Field House, with the No. 25-ranked Bronchos brushing past Texas A&M-Commerce 101-86 for their 16th straight win.

Six players scored in double figures for UCO, which built a 19-point halftime lead before turning back a pair of mild second-half threats in reaching the 20-win plateau for a school-record fourth consecutive season.

The Bronchos shot a sizzling 58.2 percent (32-of-55) from the field, including 45.2 percent (14-of-31) from 3-point range, in improving to 20-5 overall and a perfect 9-0 in the Lone Star Conference North Division.  UCO can clinch at least a share of its third straight LSC North title Saturday when the Bronchos go to Tahlequah to take on second-place Northeastern State.

“We've got a lot of weapons on this team and it showed again tonight,” head coach Terry Evans said.  “Commerce is a very talented team, but we did a great job running our offense and picked up a good win.”

Shane Carroll led the Bronchos, hitting 8-of-11 shots with three 3-pointers in scoring 23 points while adding three assists and two steals.  Tyler Phillips was 6-of-7 from beyond the arc in a 20-point performance and Eric Cazenave scored all 19 of his points in the second half in addition to dishing out seven assists.

Dauntae Williams had his worst shooting game of the season but still finished with 18 points to go along with a team-high eight rebounds and five assists and UCO also got 11 points on 5-of-5 shooting from Carl Curry and 10 points from Chris Rhymes.

It didn't take long for the Bronchos to grab control of the game, with Carroll scoring six points in an early 12-2 run that turned a 5-4 lead into a 17-6 bulge and UCO extended that to 19 (50-31) by halftime as Carroll and Phillips combined for 27 points.

The Lions cut their deficit to nine (61-52) early in the second half before seven straight points from Cazenave boosted the lead back to 16 (68-52), but A&M-C wouldn't go away and pulled within seven at 75-68 with 8:47 left to play

It was still a nine-point game at 84-75 with 5:37 remaining when UCO put the game away for good, getting six points from Williams and a 3-pointer from Phillips in a 9-1 run that upped the advantage to 17 (93-76) and the Bronchos coasted in from there.
