TOPEKA, Kan. (Sept. 25) -- Central Oklahoma's Julia Shviadok won her first two matches in the singles portion of the Wilson/ITA South Central Regional Tennis Championships here Friday.

Three of UCO's four singles players won their first-round matches, with Shviadok the lone one to advance into the third round of the 64-player bracket.

Shviadok, an All-Lone Star Conference selection in both singles and doubles as a freshman last year, entered the tournament as the No. 7 seed and rolled past Jenna Hendrickson of Southwest Baptist 6-2, 6-1 in the first round.  She was equally as impressive in the second round with a 6-4, 6-0 triumph.
