Shrum, Green Earn All-America Recognition

NORMAN, Okla. (June 10) – Central Oklahoma's Colby Shrum and Andrew Green earned All-America recognition on the NCAA Division II PING All-America Teams that were released Wednesday by the Golf Coaches Association of America, with Shrum picking up second-team honors and Green honorable mention accolades.

Shrum and Green were also named to the All-South Central Regional Team along with teammate Zach Cleland.

Shrum was a second-team All-America pick for the second straight year after enjoying a stellar 2008-09 season. He finished with a 71.4 scoring average for the year, shooting a collective two-under-par for 32 rounds.

The Perry junior had 10 top-10 finishes in 12 tournaments and won four titles, including three in the row in the spring.  Shrum was named Lone Star Conference Player of the Year for the second consecutive season and shot a final-round 7-under-par 65 to win the league tournament.

Green, who was earlier named to the Division II All-Freshman team, ended his rookie season with a 73.7 scoring average.  The Edmond Santa Fe product had five top-10 tournament finishes, highlighted by a runner-up showing at the Division II Preview Tournament in the fall.

Cleland finished the 2008-09 year with a 74.4 average, capped by a strong spring season. The Wichita, Kan. junior had four top-10 finishes, including three straight in the spring when he had a pair of career-best third-place showings.
