EDMOND (May 7) – Central Oklahoma’s Molly Shivers has been named as a second-team selection on the ESPN The Magazine Academic College Division All-District VI softball team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

District VI includes NCAA Division II and III and NAIA colleges and universities from Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas and Louisiana.  Voting is done by sports information directors in each district, with first-team selections moving on to the Academic All-America ballot.

Shivers, a junior mechanical engineering major with a 3.70 grade point average, earned Academic All-Lone Star Conference as well as first-team All-LSC North Division honors earlier this year.

The pitcher-outfielder had a team-leading 17-7 record with a 3.10 earned run average and 145 strikeouts in 153 1/3 innings in the pitching circle while also batting .277 with four home runs and 17 runs batted in.
