EDMOND (Jan. 24) -- Rose Anderson, Kasey Tweed and Courtney Allen combined for 32 second-half points to spark No. 17-ranked Central Oklahoma to a 76-59 Lone Star Conference North Division victory over Southeastern Oklahoma Saturday night at Hamilton Field House.

The Bronchos opened the second half with a 9-2 run to overcome a 35-34 halftime deficit and pulled away from there en route to their fourth straight win.  UCO improved to 14-3 overall and 4-0 in the LSC North, with the Savage Storm falling to 11-6 and 2-2.

Anderson scored 12 points in the final 20 minutes, while Tweed had 10 and Allen nine on a trio of big 3-pointers as UCO outscored the Savage Storm 42-24 in the second half.

The Bronchos shot just 33.9 percent (19-of-56) from the field, but overcame that at the free throw line by hitting 30-of-33 foul shots (90.9 percent).  UCO also had 12 steals and forced the Savage Storm into 28 turnovers.

"We struggled with our shot, but forced a lot of turnovers and that was a big key," UCO coach Guy Hardaker said.  "We got some great contributions from our bench and picked up a good win."

Anderson was 6-of-6 from the free throw line and finished with a team-high 15 points while adding four assists.  Tweed made 6-of-7 foul shots in scoring 13 points off the bench and Mallory Markus was 7-of-8 from the line and had 12 points, six rebounds and five steals.

The Bronchos also got 10 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocked shots from Lizzie Brenner, who made all eight of her charity tosses.

UCO led just once in the closely-contested first half that ended with the Savage Storm ahead 35-34, but the Bronchos surged in front early in the second half as Cristina Yarbrough had five points in 9-2 run that made it 43-37.

It became a nine-point lead at 49-40 on an Anderson 3-pointer at the 12:15 mark and UCO followed a pair of Savage Storm free throws with 11 unanswered points to put the game away.

Allen keyed that run wtih back-to-back 3-pointers and Tweed added a three-point play as the Bronchos increased their lead to 18 (60-42) with 9:25 left, with SOSU getting no closer than 10 the rest of the way.
